My family have owned Leonbergers now for half of my life!

Takoda won all of our hearts and in 2005 our family welcomed a second Leo, this time an import from New Zealand whom we named 'Xari.' My Mum and I enjoyed showing our families Leonbergers together and my Mum bred one litter with Xari under her prefix 'Arkolowe' in 2008. 

Once my partner Pete and I moved out of home, it was time to get a leo of our very own. We waited patiently for 2.5yrs and in 2010 we imported our girl 'Indy' from Simtara Leonbergers, New Zealand. Our family grew from there....and in December 2016 we welcomed our human baby 'Isla'. 

Our breeding prefix 'Glamourford' tells you a little about myself, I love a bit of glam and I'm a Ford fan - our other family fun time is all things cars! And where we can, we combine our two favourite things and the dogs come along for a ride to the car shows and cruises.

When you look through our litter name themes, you may notice that they're all car related....car paint colours, car motto's, falcon litter, kids cars movie characters and we hope there'll be more to come!  

Our dogs are very much a part of our social family - attending car events, beach, markets, family gatherings and represent our breed at dog shows and exhibitions including the Royal Melbourne Show. 

We pride ourselves on the nature of our dogs and hope to improve longevity and genetic diversity of the breed. Proving much more difficult to achieve our goals working from a secluded country, far more costly too!

Over the years we have imported from countries such as NZ, UK, Poland, Norway, Ireland and Slovakia. 

Glamourford Leonbergers have had some great show wins not only from our imported girls but also our home bred dogs with their owners, one of which who was the first Leonberger in Australia to win a Best In Show (all breeds and now a multi BIS winner) and has gone on to become the very first and only Supreme Champion.
